2011 Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown at Richmond International Raceway

You do not want to miss this year's Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday night, April 28.  It will be held at America's Premiere Short Track, Richmond International Raceway. The event will feature more than ten NASCAR drivers and celebrities battling it out on the ¾-mile track with some of the best local Late Model Stock Car drivers.

The charity race will be a one-day show, featuring practice and qualifying prior to the Blue Ox 100 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race. The Short Track Showdown will run immediately following the Blue Ox 100, making for an exciting Thursday at Richmond International Raceway.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers and other NASCAR celebrities currently scheduled to run in the Short Track Showdown include Denny, Tony Stewart, Michael Waltrip, Joey Logano, Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne, Travis Pastrana, Jason White (Truck Series Driver and Richmond Native), Aric Almirola, Hermie Sadler, Clay Campbell - Martinsville Speedway president, and Curtis Markham - Denny's spotter and Virginia native.

Tickets are available now for the excitement on Thursday, April 28th at www.rir.com . All seats are general admission and $25. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult. Tickets include the Blue Ox 100 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race and Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown.

Proceeds from this event will help raise awareness and funding for the specific needs of individuals afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis as well as other programs that support chronically ill children and underpriveleged youth.
